Community Impact

The Orange Shirt Society

Every Child Matters

North Shore Community Foundation is proud to support The Orange Shirt Society in establishing Every Child Matters crosswalks in partnership with Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Each crosswalk was designed with care by a local Indigenous artist, working with CNV and DNV.  These are the 8th and 9th crosswalks nationally.  

 

Family, children, safety, culture, language, respect, and voices being heard are all intrinsic to  Belonging. We recognize the importance of space dedicated to honouring survivors of Residential Schools and commemorating the thousands of children who never returned home.
